Discovered by Mike Andrews,January 2005.
22A III27 · C4b (Doubled Profile, O Tilted Left, Denticle Impression Below Wing) (181) I-3 R-6
Obverse III2 7 - Profile of Liberty head is doubled in forward hairline, forehead, nose, lips and chin.
Reverse C4b– Raised triangle below bottom inner feather of eagle’s right wing. Shape matches that of some other listed denticle impressions varieties. Also has faint short raised line on edge of eagle’s right leg.
Comments:
1. Revised 2007 and spilt into die states 1904-O VAM-22A1 and 1904-O VAM-22A2.
Actually, they are not different die states. The obverse dies are different, thus they are two different die marriages versus different die states. The split effectively eliminated the VAM-22A listing. Alan
