1885-S VAM-6 S/S

Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974.
This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM.
6 III2 1 - C3b (S/S) I-3 R-4
Reverse C3b- IV S mint mark strongly doubled with original showing as vertical spike to left, a thin diagonal line to left of upper loop, a curved line on right inside of lower loop, and a thin line on right inside of upper loop.

1. This reverse shared with VAM-6 and VAM-9.
2. The 1885-S VAM-6 has a strongly repunched mint mark. The remains of another S can be seen to the left of the lower serif. Be sure you check for the tops of digits in the denticles. If they are present, you have an ultra-rare 1885-S VAM-9
