1881-S VAM-38 Doubled and Spiked 8's, High S

Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, April 1981.
38 III2 6 - C3o (Doubled and Spiked 8's, High S) (186) I-2 R-4
Obverse III2 6– Both 8's have short die chip spike at top left inside of upper loop. Left 8 slightly doubled on lower right surface of lower loop. Right 8 strongly doubled at bottom right inside of upper loop. Top of Phrygian cap slightly doubled.
Reverse C3o- Mint mark centered and set high.

1. This obverse shared with VAM-9, VAM-10, and VAM-38.
2. This reverse shared with VAM-33, VAM-38, and VAM-46.
