Reverse B2al– Shallow feather engraved between eagle’s right wing and leg. Slightly doubled UNITED STAT and top leaf cluster of left wreath towards rim. R in Trust not broken. Raised dots and splotches in center of both wings from acid treated die, but later die state than VAM 75A and die polished again. Die markers: Tiny raised dot on right side of upper tail feathers between eagle’s legs and curved depressed area on lowermost outside feather of eagle’s right wing.
Comments:
1. Note: vam 55 and 35 share the same obverse die
2. Fine vertical lines engraved in middle of eagle's left wing (Not on 1878-S VAM-75)
