Group Question. We all have that one...
We all know we have one. Mine is the 79s v106/107/107A. Going on 20+ from raw F-ish circ to 6+. Its a compulsive disorder. What's yours?!

I have 5 1902-O VAM-45As and have passed along at least 5 more to others. I also have 8 1902-O VAM-26As. For some reason I can;t pass on either one of these when I see them.
Re: Group Question. We all have that one...
Too many to list them all. 1892-O VAM-5 for sure. Have had rolls of them from accumulations. 1881-O VAM-5, 1882-O VAM-38A/B and VAM-17A/B, 1881-S VAM-1B, 1878-S VAM-46A (for whatever reason), 1883-O VAM-21A (they just seem to happen), 1886 VAM-23, 1890 VAM-15A, 1891 VAM-2/2B, 1891-O VAM-1A, 1894-O VAM-6A, 1897 VAM-3A, 1900-O VAM-23C (ages ago though), 1901 VAM-7, 1901-S VAM-10, 1902-O VAM-8, 1902-O VAM-15A, 1903 VAM-6A, 1904-O clashes (pick any), 1921-D VAM-1J, 1921-D VAM-1N, 1921-D VAM-1i, 1921-S VAM-1C.

This is embarrassing:
(497) 1921-P Morgans, all attributed, 10 that are not, and 12 more are inbound.
(37) 1895-S Morgans, all in PCGS holders, every grade from Poor-01 to AU58 and all known VAMs.
(12) 1880-O VAM 49 Morgans, all in PCGS holders. Thankfully I stopped a couple of years ago.
(5) 1878-P VAM 44 Morgans, all in PCGS holders.

When in doubt... don't.
Re: Group Question. We all have that one...
For me I think it would be 1883P VAM 24A.
There's just something about a clashed DMPL - can't pass it up, even though I already have multiple examples!

Re: Group Question. We all have that one...
This thread makes me feel better (???) about my passion for 1891 o Morgans. It took a long time to pass on most E clashes I see, but I still grab an occasional one in higher grade. If I can ever find those last couple of VAMs I need for the complete set, perhaps I'll be able to move on from that little obsession. But then, there will be another set to chase.... rotated dies, retained cuds, etc.
Re: Group Question. We all have that one...
1883-O VAM-1C any stage. I have 14 in my collection so far. I do feel better now seeing what's posted above....
edit to add - I even use a crop of a LDS 1C2 wing tip for my avatar on another site...

Any acid treated and die chip(s) for 78s, 79s, 80s, 81s and 82s. Unfortunately these are not that easy to locate. So even after a number of years of hunting, only been able to locate less than 50 in total.
Re: Group Question. We all have that one...
I'm actually rather disciplined here, in that I don't have a particular VAM I've stockpiled. There are some that I would if I could, but they're super rare, and one doesn't simply stockpile the super rare stuff.

I do not have this bug (lucked out on this one). Think the most I have of any VAM is 3.
