I doubt there is any.
Generically, 1881-O used to be a fairly expensive coin in 64 DMPL, then several years ago a ton of them seemed to suddenly came on the market (I recall looking through a group of 20 of them in PCGS holders; someone must have opened an amazing bag!) and prices plunged by 30-50% to where they remain today. They can be very pretty, though, which is where any premium you get will likely come from.
When in doubt... don't.

I think it was Todd Pollack that mentioned a few years ago someone having a partial bag of PL 81-O's... maybe those were the flooders?

Thanks Dennis; and others for replys
Guess we will need chalk this vam 16 up to another vam shame.
Quite a few 64dmpl's over the last 12 yrs or so, but not vam 16
I for one-maybe the only one who believes the vam 16 worthy of a premium
as pretty scarce bird- one pretty deep dmpl beauty to boot

Guess i will refuse to let her go for no premium- sure under appreciated as

Someone is always willing to pay a premium for quality. I've been searching for my perfect DMPL for many moons. Found an 80-s once in 65dmpl that glowed from across the show floor. I asked how much and he wanted little more than double book - I said OK and he then declined to sell it. I guess it brought people to his table.

Still today, I watch almost every auction for that monster DMPL. Obviously funds are not unlimited, so looking at the more common dates.

Jim, I also had that moment, except it was a 85-CC MS66 DMPL I could see from 15 feet away...
way out of my budget at the time. Still look for it. I did AQ a killer 87-P DMPL that won't grade...
