1878 V85 & V86

Post by vamnuke » Wed Oct 14, 2020 11:28 pm

First, I am NOT selling my examples! I haven't seen either one offered for sale recently, either. But am curious, what are they worth? FYI I paid $3K for my XF V86 within about a year of discovery, and have really been amazed so few came to light. V85 seems to have more out there, but not many, but most are PL / DMPL.

Well, the 14.11 in XF that just sold for $8K would somewhat inform what these would be worth. Both super rare, 86 moreso than 85. 85 comes BU, 86 does not. Neither is quite as high profile as the 14.11, but I'd say the 86 is rarer. $3K for either an 86 in XF or an 85 in 62 feels close. Mind you, I never thought the XF 14.11 would go for $8K.

Yep it was a WOW on the 14.11 but Hey if you have a hole to fill on a UBER rare VAM
then I guess we have to Pony Up . And YES I do need a VAM85 and VAM86 .
But Yes its hard to predict what they are worth . 5 to 8 K range or maybe higher ?
It all depends on whom has fluid cash and whom needs the VAM hardcore !!!
But Wow I think these RARE Vams are going up in $ big time , And Thats Cool !!!
So what they bring at the Auction is questionable , But I would think some Hard Core cash would be needed to aquire them in a auction .
Well I a Nut Shell the Rare Vams are Healthy in worth and are going Higher !!!
