1923 S Collar Clash

Post by Raybob15239 » Sat Dec 01, 2018 8:19 pm

I found my first collar clash in the wild. 1923 S. The coin is clashed with a single spike. I checked the listings and there are only two 23-S collar clashes: 1EO and 1Q1. There are no pictures on the 1EO page to check against, but these "tracks" don't seem to match the descriptions. Mine go from ED in UNITED through OF. Anyone have either listed VAMs that can check to see if this is a match? There are a few other PUPs as well. Die scratch at the left base of the crag. Clash marks in the rays, etc.

One was found by one of our members and was going to submit it. But we were never updated here
And I don't have the SUPPS for last year yet.

Does your coin match the plate on 1cq page?

Not a match. I can't match up the clash, the file gouge or the collar clash. But We don't have pics of the 1EO collar clash on the page, so I can't conclusively rule it out yet. I was hoping someone might have a 1EO TO COMPARE.

There is a die state of 1CQ which has a collar clash in the area shown, but other die markers don't match. Nice pickup!

This came back from LVA as VAM 1EO. Can someone add my pictures of the collar clash to the 23-S VAM 1EO page, please?
