ANACS Order Grades In

Post by alefzero » Fri Mar 05, 2021 12:32 am

Not a fancy one. I added the 7A at the last minute to make the quota for the grading special, and is a good eBay coin. Actually, I only was going to send the Carr token and the rest was just as case of finding 9 raw coins. That Die Pair 8 Circulated had a total mintage of 8 and was a key one for the Registry reference set.

I have been cataloging all of the Trade die pairs and holdering the raw ones is worthwhile. No surprises there. The FS-801 as AU58 Details is slightly disappointing, but I have that one already in a graded holder anyway (NGC MS61).

The VAM-3AN3 was one I had raw and saw that a certain someone needed that. So it was a definite one to add to the order. The 1897-S was one I had held for Leroy for years and never sent. Looked at it quickly when I was packing the order and deemed it should holder as VAM-8. It appears it might not that simple based on the obverse die.

And after I sent that order in (last day of the special), I ended up with another stack to submit. That's the way it goes.

1878 CC $ VAM-7A CLEANED VG
1885 O $ VAM-25A CLEANED MS
1889 $ VAM-19A BARWING TOP 100 62
1889 $ VAM-43A 55
1897 S $ VAM-8 50 Same obverse as VAM 1C
1921 $ MORGAN VAM-3AN3 63
1925 $ VAM-1N CLEANED AU
1875 S TR$ CHOPMARKED CLEANED AU
1876 S TR$ BREEN-5803 CORRODED AU
1877 S TR$ DIE BREAKS CLEANED AU E of AMERICA and D of DOLLAR
1878 S TR$ DDR FS-801 DIE 1 CLEANED A8
1964 D TOKEN DAN CARR "PEACE $" O/S ON USA 1922-1935 $ DIE PAIR 8 AU 55

Not that coin, but I have two of the 1877-S Trade with the break on the E of AMERICA. Here is a taste of some of the neat things that will be in the listings. The radial break crosses the denticle and cuds beyond that.
