Very interesting ! Struck Thru errors on silver dollars vary greatly relative to the intrusive debris. The subject coin displays an unusual herringbone pattern that is both singular and overlapping. The diagonal linear path from between the stars across the cheek changes to a curving lateral over the ear.
It is very difficult to ascertain whether there is lateral metal displacement from the photos which would prove PMD.
One possibility could be reeded edge contact through a $1000 canvas bag tossed on top of another.

i had an 1884o v25 with a very long strike thru that was partially rretained, and mostly detatched and it had this appearance where it was still retained.

I want to believe this is strike thru, that the effect travels thru the ear hair is very telling. Hard to say what the object was as it vaporized under pressure. IMO. Peace Roy
