Thanks vampicker! I would bet you have helped out a bunch of folks with these photos.

@vampicker just saw that comment about drawing spectators. that's really fun. we have some really good crowds at a few shows. one of those things that makes shows worth doing., because you know, sometimes shows aren't worth walking in the door.

@vamsterdam One of my favorite memories with the two of us was maybe ten years back at the Greater Cincinnati show. We were having a conversation at another dealer's booth. I'm not sure he knew either us, because he seemed genuinely puzzled by the steady stream of people that walked up to ask about specific coins from either/both of us but not him. The repeated look on his face was priceless.

It was multiple things, including one guy asking you for specific varieties and another asking me to authenticate an 09-S VDB cent

Nothing like stumbling across a pop top that you forgot you had.

yup, what John said. I think your example might have been the one that made me put it on the JR list in the first place.

I don't even remember where I picked it up from, whether an accidental cherrypick or intentional buy

This isn't even a 'you suck', I'd say this might be a 'wow I do suck' moment.

Sometimes rarities don't expose themselves until after a test of time. But I am not sure this VAM would bring a huge premium. Likely I got it out of the bargain bucket at a local B&M, same as the 80 V1A2 I have in EF45. But not to confuse either coin with WR's 23A

Agreed, still a great coin to rediscover already in your collection
