Less scarce than the VAM-113 (which might be the holy grail of the lot), but much more scarce than the others according to the population census numbers in the SSDC registry.
As of today (October 20, 2020):
36.1 - 65
36B - 51 (including 3 details coins)
36A - 30 (including 3 details coins)
36.3 - 13
113- 3 (including 1 details coin) - a 4th supposedly exists but isn't in the registry

There are lots of VAMs that some would call "rare."
The broader question is, "Which readily visible Morgan and Peace dollar varieties are the most difficult to find?"

And I would throw in desirability.
In the 1881-O series the VAMs 1D, 5, and 27 are the most desirable but rarity is always a wild card with VAMs in my opinion. I thought the 1D Flaky Eye was rare, but I found 23 of them in 10 different grades without a lot of effort. So perhaps not as rare as just desirable. I could have expanded the collection but sellers consider them rare and in my opinion overcharge or over ask for them.
The true rarities are VAMs 29 and 31, which may not even exist. I have always thought that we should not list a VAM unless or until two examples can be verified by LVA. Also listing VAMs with no image proof makes them seem rare when in fact with better documentation one might discover that they are not really new VAMs. A listing with only one sighting in 40 years and no documentation seems questionable to me.
