Any thoughts on these 1878-S Denticle Double dies?
I was looking at my 1878-S DMPL and I stumbled upon some interesting denticle patterns on the reverse. I managed to get pics of the full rim on the reverse. Can this be a new VAM or existing VAM? I tried looking for something like it in the wiki, but I could not find anything. I will share some other finds as well. What do you guys think?

Check Vam 14, possibility.

Interesting way to emphasize that ANY positional descriptions involving denticles is unstable and thus unreliable.

Is it that common for the denticles too?

Strike doubling is especially common on peripheral devices.

Seems to me you are not asking a yes or no question. Please clarify. I want to vote!nechanique054 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2020 8:11 amCan this be a new VAM or existing VAM? What do you guys think?
Thanks.

It does not constitute a new VAM as best I can tell (it never has been before and I think it would be terrible if we got LVA going on this...).... I would recommend attributing the coin without worrying about the denticles shift doubling.
