The following photos were taken from an ANACS-graded and attributed VAM 25.
Like some other fans of Wide Reeding VAMs, I am not a fan of the "A" sub-types whose attributions depend upon the severity of beveling above STATES and OF on the reverse. The distinction becomes a judgement call that lacks a defined yes and no point. As a fellow WIde Reeding collector recently told me, "where do you draw the line?" Where indeed.
This is the key photo for attributing VAM 25/25A, and the two heavy polishing lines/gouges indicated by the arrows are the key pickup features. Yes, there are other polishing lines, but the two indicated tend to really stand out in hand:
The actual scribbles on VAM 25/25A are fairly week, and I'm pretty proud of myself for having been able to get a photo this clear. But frankly, if you have to use scribbles to attribute your coin then you are working much too hard:
There are several diagonal polishing lines below Liberty's hair curl to the right of her eye, although they may be worn off on coins lower than AU:
There are also a few lines at the back of Liberty's neck:

When in doubt... don't.

Dennis,
Did you want the photo's added to the VAM-25 page?

All done Dennis. I did not add any photo's to the VAM-25A page.
