1921 D VAM 1K3 was my revision specimen from 8-12-18. Displaced field break 921 (obverse) and displaced field break ED (reverse). Plate photos on Page. I also added additional photos on obverse first left star break
that was not noted by LVA. This specimen is now in ANACS VAM 1K3 AU 58 holder. At this time, I do not have
either VAM 1K1 or 1K2.

I just want a photo full reverse of the 1921-D VAM 1k1 and 1k2.
No reverse picks on site.

I have a 1K2 in XF45, but don't have the current capability to take
decent photos... Can loan it out if that helps.

Picks for the reverse.
Left and right Laurel wreaths.
Why no details?

My 1921 D VAM 1K3 specimen shows a very similar lack of detail on third laurel leaf cluster right.
Bottom leaf clusters one and two on the left and right show around 5-15 % loss of detail. All of the other leaf clusters show full detail on this AU 58 specimen.
These devices were probably partially filled with debris, grease, etc. in the die's recesses. Commonly called
"STRUCK THRU".

I have a 1K2 graded at AU50. I could dig it out if that would help.

It seams to be a common problem for the 1921-D to have weak wreath .. As if they are wore out to start .
The VAM 1B1 has the same problem .

OK 1b1 & 2.
Why would you grease a die area to fill details for the press?

Grease, dirt, metal filings, etc. can accumulate inside the die recesses from normal die press operation. Grease is used as a lubricant for various moving parts in the press and can accidentally get deposited
on the die face. Strike through errors are much more common on 1921 P,D, and S Morgan dollars due in
part to huge production numbers in a relatively short period.
