OT... How are you gonna handle the next 2 weeks?

Post by CascadeChris » Sat Mar 14, 2020 6:13 pm

So with the national emergency and society upending for a bit, with the next 2-3 weeks telling the majority of the tale, and everyone hunkering down, tell me (us) what will you be doing? How will you be handling it? A ton of tiny shiny metal disk stuff I assume?

Let's have this thread serve as both a conversation AND a share of ideas to calm the craziness that's about to go down in full effect. Above all.. stay safe, stay active, try to allay the boredom..... and try to have fun with it! 😬🤒😷

Try to live normally without the Chicken Little mentality and adhere to good sense habits and hopefully be in the 99% category.

Personally, @ 63 yrs. old (today - Happy birthday to Remy and Albert Einstein too) My Mrs. and I are sticking close to home. My job is considered fairly essential (system operator for the electric co.) so our group of 6 have been pretty much sequestered to a locked down room. I assume the local Kansas show scheduled for tomorrow has been cancelled, but would not attend anyway with the current issues. If the weather settles out, a few good days on the lake may be in order...... Everyone be safe out there,

Seeing my Puppies can’t get the virus, they have made this suggestion:

Think of the song and the House-man blues.
I may follow his order;
One Bourbon, one Scotch, one Beer.

Great video parody post!
Back about 1972 I was in the stands two rows behind Adolph Rupp watching a college basketball game.
Flash forward after that I watched in person many SEC tourney games at St Pete, Atlanta, Nashville
Think it was this Thursday about noon
when the SEC basketball tourney was canceled
followed shortly with the cancellation of the NCAA tourney
then I had this song pop into my head.
Had their tape back in the day
First time just now that I actually watched them perform it
Lyrics at about 4:20 pretty much sums it up for me.
Avoid large groups. Wash hands repeatedly.
Hope everyone stays safe!

I'll be telecommuting. Saves me over an hour every day and about a gallon of gas. It might even motivate me to clean up a bit around here, since I now have two desks that are, sadly, quite the mess. I just wish it were warm enough to go for a bike ride at lunchtime.

Very thought provoking CC. It will be interesting (or maybe not) to see how this develops along with a possible apocalypse developing.. Idea, charge for memberships to this thread. I'll handle collections for a reasonable fee, and pay you on the 1st. WOW, like grandpa said, "All's well that ends".

I won't be doing anything different.
Last week I checked the bathroom. Plenty of TP.
Under the kitchen sink there is most of a jug of hand cleaner that I use to fill small bottles around the house.
Any required trips to Walmart will be done at 3 AM as I'm a nocturnal person.
