1921-S VAM-1B7

Post by vincar73 » Wed Feb 19, 2020 3:37 pm

I know it's almost impossible to cherrypick 2 rare thorn head but if luck turns your way :D :D

Just wanted to share last cherrypick. After finding VAM-1B3a, i've found a 1921-S VAM-1B7!!!
It was in a necklace and certainly cleaned/details but it wasn't soldered and no big damage.

There are periods when I look at many morgans and I don't find any interesting VAM and then there are periods like this in which I can identify and find (with a good dose of luck) VAMs very interesting and sometimes rare like this.

How many 1B7 are known to exist in any grade??
In SSDC registry census there are 4 + 2 details

Today is a great day for me ..... also had results of a NGC submission i've made ...will update past discussions with results

Great pick and rare bird, congrats
I have had 4 of these.
Bought one off Rob Joyce several years back.
Sold it to P Burchfield.
Picked 2 raw off e bay few years ago and both graded pcgs au 55.
Picked up a xf 45+ a while back.
Sold one au 55 and have the xf 45+ on hold.
Other au 55 in my set.

Congrats! Very tough coin, with not many known. I think there were 3 problem coins known before the first one that graded was found.
