A little help with an 80-S please.

Disclaimer....not my coin. I am assisting another collector with this one. He thinks it's an overdate. but it doesn't seem to fit the rules. Any help is appreciated!

Leaning toward Vam 11 but not seeing the thread-like impression on the Trueview and have not seen another 11 that looks quite like this. Any ideas?

Doesn't quite look like what the 0 of v11 looks like. If it's not some kind of polishing or something else inside that 0, I've heard theres a theory that a majority (or maybe just many) of 80s obverses are actually 80/79 overdates that were either well polished so nothing shows from the first striking OR the first few coins may still show evidence of an overdate. I actually have an 80s with a 7 crossbar in top of 8 that doesn't match any known waiting for Leroy to start back up. Perhaps this is another but with a 9 in 0. Can you not provide better pics?

Thanks for the reply. He is going to try and get some better pics. Also, he is now telling me whatever is going on inside the 0 may be a planchet issue. :?
