I made an improvement to the SFLN chart, this one can easily accommodate four coins in a single cell.

VAM 27 ANACS F 15 (details)
VAM 56 ANACS XF 40

morganman, you assisted Gene Henry and together you two collected the SFLN's, does this result in you having a couple hundred graded SFLN coins? People think them rare but there are well over a thousand floating around.

Even should the coins in the twenty PCGS SFLN sets be redistributed, nobody can make a set that is all of the same grade. The AG3 category is missing the VAM-60, the XF40 category is missing VAM-60, the XF-45 category is missing the VAM-59, and the AU50 category is missing the VAM-72.

It took some time but I received the coins in the mail yesterday (40 coins arrived). Because most sellers would not ship to Canada, I had the San Franciscos coins shipped to San Francisco, and from there they were eventually forwarded to me all at once. Sadly, eBay will NOT allow me to now post feedback for bulk of the sales as too much time had elapsed since purchasing the coins. I thank all the sellers who participated by providing coins for my birthday. Signed: Flat-Chested

On average Heritage is selling a VAM-59 every 2.7 years, they are due to sell another in early 2021.
I'm very glad I found one at the 2017 summer ANA show in Denver. :D
When in doubt... don't.

I think we are in a golden age of collecting, although a few people are buying and selling, others are buying and NOT selling, and by doing so are removing these coins from market. It is the children of the VAM collectors who will have the option to sell the coins at some distant date. In the mean time I am trying to get 10% of the graded SFLN's, this results in greater than 10% of additional problems for the other collectors. Woe to the collectors if somebody other than me also wants 10% of these coins.

You want to buy any graded LN in any grade? Are they hard to get into straight holders in general? Say even a lower grade v27 in a straight holder, good coin?

I am leaving most of the VAM-27's for other collectors as my funds are limited. Consider collecting Morgans from other mints and other years. I hear people like Hot Lips, maybe try to get some of them for yourselves before they all disappear. And them Peace Dollars sure are pretty coins.

I'm just asking because I cherried my first LN recently. A v27 lower grade but honest surfaces that should grade out. Was curious if even a 27, if gradeabale, is special. I've heard that getting LN's to grade is tough in general but I'm guessing that given the relative commonality of the v27 the gradeabale ones extant are relatively plentiful in the pantheon of graded LN's.

CascadeChris, I'm sure the vast majority of us would love to see photos of your VAM-27 that you are considering sending in for grading. There is nothing wrong with a lower grade VAM-27, even if it ends up in an orange ANACS holder. Perhaps there are already a couple hundred VAM-27's graded and encapsulated by the assorted grading companies, but most of those will not be offered for sale any time soon.

Ok, I'll post it. Figured it was a common ho-hum tho and didn't want to clog the page with ho-hum.
