I looked at the VAM 70 page and we seem to have a couple of examples up that aren't as cracked as this. If this is the EDS, then they all qualify as 70A. Am I wrong?
I just wanted to clarify that Leroy listed 70A as "fairly EDS" B 1a reverse. Morgan dollars with DMPL or PL
surfaces are generally considered to be EDS.

All too often we have seen new listings that cause people to wonder if all the coins from a set of dies show the "new" feature and subsequently if the listing should have been added at all. It would be nice if Leroy required multiple die stages to be submitted to prove that an allegedly new site stage is indeed new and should be listed.

As an aside, it looks like the IP address assigned in the ANA lounge at Narita is blacklisted at spamhaus.org.

Couple things - I am not the discoverer, and I don't recall being involved in sending the coin in. The submitter does occasionally visit the site and may wish to take credit for the listing. At the moment, my customer has a right to privacy regarding their submission.

There is a distinct possibility that all or virtually all VAM 70s now fit the description of VAM 70A. Reading the VAM 70 page, this is hardly the first time someone has tried to get the reverse crack pattern listed. Time will reveal if we now have a rare bird or just another empty nest.

Assuming the reverse die was only paired with the V70 obverse, that would suggest non cracked examples are possible and exist or existed in the past. Look how rare a true non polished non cracked V80 is. I also own a V1 with no cracking and no die polish line at E-D. I will check mine in the box, but since only PL, my guess is it’s cracked too. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Think you may have jumped to a conclusion just because there's one in the registry now...
