i have seen quite a few of these in mint state and they are always pl-ish. never have been able to get one to grade PL. and yeah, thye punched an I over the broken .

The same will happen when you get the v18a/v7a discovery piece. If you end up getting it, Leroy said he will kill the old 7a discovery and make the v18a the new v7a discovery since v18a was discovered first.

They are little slow but they’ll get to em. Just got back 8 crossovers. Got 8/8, including a 1878 v44 ms62. I did well in crossovers but boy are they expensive.

I yi eye! I am waiting for a similar one to come back from Leroy. I say similar but not. it is a heavily clashed vam 1AJ. nice strong I clash with plenty of die polish lines. been waiting weeks.

all of the ovaloids(except 1891o v1a2-3) show the ovaloid on both sides of the coin in precisely the same spot as on the other side of the coin. how then is the 1891o v1a an ovaloid? no ovaloid clash shows on the obverse. and all of my other ovaloids do show up as a result of a clashed die but are n...

The clashes E will always show the neck/jaw clash below it(on the reverse. The absence of th neck jaw clashmark pretty much eliminates any chance of an E clash.

probable struck thru. no evidence of a lamination. no way to identify which possible vam is it is based on the pictures.

i seldom pay attention to the broken star or the broken r. I look at the rengraved wing first and then go from there.

I was able to see the e on the v1d, v1bb, and the v8d but it wasn’t easy immediately. I had the benefit of having mark Kimpton and john Roberts with me while we looked at the 1bb and a 1d. I went to the st. Charles Illinois show and had a field day! Picked some great stuff up there. Was going to do Fredericksburg but decided to to do st. Charles and Rockford Illinois instead. I am glad I did.
