Re: 2020.... year in review

These are photos I posted earlier this year. There is an EDS without either the gouge or pitting. The photos below show the LDS with the gouge and pitting. There is a MDS with the gouge but not the pitting that I have been looking for an example for over a year to no avail. Looks like 2020 passed wi...

Re: 1904-O VAM-16 Slanted date

I am sure a lot of folks know this already. But for those that don't, here goes again. Over the years in my many submissions to Leroy, occasionally I will get a comment back from him such as, "When is a slanted date slanted enough to be called a slanted date?", or "When is a doubled profile doubled ...

VAM-25 looks like a winner Roy/Kurt.

Re: 1884-cc field effects question

Not that I am a recognized VAM or minting expert, but I am with JR on this one. If you look hard, you will see discoloration in the letters in the same position as the scracthes in the field. In addition, you can still see scratches in the tops of the letters at the same angle as the ones in the fie...

I have had shipping issues with HA since last May.

My fillet migons for XMAS Eve dinner out of PA have been delayed. May have to resort to hot dogs

JR, sometimes your humor escapes me. But this time, I think I get it, kinda, sorta, maybe

Re: 1894 S VAM ?

Maybe I will catch flack for saying this, but why does it really matter what VAM it might be? There is no premium based on any of the suggested VAMs, and especially on a coin as worn as that one. While I do always want to try and understand the die pair of the Morgan's I have, I always try to remind...

Sounds good to me unless I am in the car heading back to St. Louis from Orlando, which likely might be the case.

Re: FUN Show Cancelled

Well, crapolla. But I am with JR on this one. Would be nice to get both the VAM Thing and JR's 12 for 2021 virtual if possible. I would be no help however as I am not IT inclined.

Re: NEW 1926-S VAM 3AA

This is very, very sad. This is why I haven't and won't be sending any more coins to Leroy, ever. I do have some and have for a while. Guess I will wait to see what the future holds, but it may not be pretty. Hope for the best. whatever that is.

Re: why do people do this?

Maybe because they wanted to sell the silver metal shavings for melt? Likely they did a number of coins that way. Wouldn't take a lot coins to get some $$$ for food.

Re: 1889cc v4a

From my experience, save your money. I have a EF40 clashed VAM-4 coin. I swear I see a clashed E, but others have disagreed. Besides, you can't enter one in the SSDC Registry even if you have one. That is why there is "yellow" around some clashed E sets. The fun of VAMming

Re: My thoughts about FUN 2021

I am currently in Orlando at my house for T-Day. Was going to head back to St. Louis after that, but our office in St. Louis shutdown again due to the surge. So I am in Orlando until at least the first of the year. If the FUN Show actually happens, and my office stays shutdown, I may actually make t...

Re: 80-P V-56A questions

Yes Mitch, I have both the 56A and 56B listing coins. Not sure why I never sent them both to LVA to kill the 56B, but they are definitely the same die pair. I guess likely the reason I didn't is that there didn't seem to be a reason at the time. But thanks Mitch for sending it to me. I forgot I had ...
