Re: 1888-O PMD, planchet flaw, struck through, or what

Don't take my word for it, just venturing an opinion..... but thinking it is a planchet issue. Have seen that look on several other Morgans before.

Re: Inventory Reduction Sale

Good to see a familiar set of names. I had a nice dinner with these guys and several others a few years back @ a show near St. Louis. It was the dinner where we got to hold 2 of the 1889 VAM 23a's at the same time. Good times with a great bunch of Vammers. With retirement around the corner, hope to ...

Legit ANACS holders

Looking at purchasing a Morgan in an older ANACS holder. Is there anywhere that shows all the old style holders and what to look for in case of fraud? the one I am looking at is the old blue style, but says patent pending on the reverse side. ???

Re: AT LAST!! – a wide reeding in PL

Congrats Dennis.. Having been through the watching and waiting and finally winning a long sought VAM, the postal system wait can be agonizing. Also pretty nerve-wracking hoping the correct coin was sent when it's just a common uncertified version like my last 1891 o pick was. Very nice pictures as w...

Re: 1900 VAM 11 LDS?

Hard to tell from your full photos, could you show photos of lower Eagle wings and tailfeather area, also olive branches and arrows. Might be extra PUPs that weren't listed in the main description for the listing. But does not look to be an 11..... edited to read "does not"

Re: What!!? Why no bodybag?

Like a lot of things in this world.... it's who ya know. If I had the capability of full coin photos, I'd post one of an 1891 o I sent in - unc details for a scratch, but for the life of me, I can't find the scratch.

Re: 1924 Long Obv Die Scratch

A minor die crack found on many 22, 23, and 24 Peace dollars. Not listable as a singular feature, but often useful in matching up a coin to a known VAM with other features.

Re: Anybody know an ebayer with 1878-O Morgan?

There is a running message thread on this site where members post obvious counterfeits from other sites. A lot of these type of listings get cancelled due to work by some members here. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=34

I'd lean to agreeing with VAM 10 - cleaned and worn coins tend to lose some of the minor attributes

Re: Name that crack game

Agree with that.... some of the best cherrypicks can come from coin listings that aren't oriented as we normally try to view them....
