Re: 1924-P VAM 8A

I'm getting old and forgetful.
I just looked through my 1924's and I found, that I have a 1924 vam 8A.
Here are pictures of the D/B, in the hair., gouged eye, shortened rays,
but mine doesn't have the D/B on the wing.
So Tom, your vam 8A is a LDS, because of that D/B on the wing?
Thanks, Bert

Re: 1924-P VAM 8A

GOOD EYE Tom,
I have a couple 1924 vams, but not this one.
I put it on my list and will be looking for that
missing top ray, on the eagle's back.

My 1881 O FLAKY EYE

I have a nice ungraded 1881 O, vam 1D 'flaky eye', that I found online, awhile back. It is no where near, as nice as Dennis's great PCGSMS64PL find, but I was pretty excited, when I saw the wavy lines, in the eye and clicked the BIN. I had also noticed the neck and the spike, on the inside,of the to...

My 1890 O VAM 1F

When I first saw this NGCMS63 1890 O, I knew I wanted it and went down the 1890 O vam list and saw no die markers, on the seller's pictures. When I received it I saw the crumbled fields, below the right stars, for a vam 1F. I wanted it, first because the toning and second, because it is housed in an...

OT Peace dollar

I was lucky enough to have seen and bought this beautiful rainbow toned 1925 Peace dollar, from a local coin shop long ago. It is not a vam, but is housed in my favorite old gold embossed NGC thick slab and the different colored bans, of toning, create a real rainbow of colors over and through the e...

Re: An often overlooked 1878 CC R-7 vam

Thank you VamHelsing (John), bobbyjenkins (Bobby), old collector (Lance),Flat-chested (Daryl). I was merely trying to express the excitement, that I felt, when I had learned about the (R-7) vam 19B and saw that cool die break on mine. Even though, mine is only an AU58 graded coin. The information on...

Re: An often overlooked 1878 CC R-7 vam

Vampicker, I was going, by what it said on the vam 19B page and still rated as an R-7
(Wide CC With Dot, Die Break R ) (179) I-3 R-7)
Where did you read or learn, what you said and why isn't that reflected on the vam 19B page?

An often overlooked 1878 CC R-7 vam

With all of this free time on my hands, I was looking through some of my coins and I saw my 1878 CC, that I had bought, when I first started collecting these beauitfull large round, pieces of silver. It was ungraded and I had sent it to ICG to be graded, maybe early 1990's. It was graded ICGAU58. It...

A cool DARKSIDE find awhile back

Here are some pictures of my 1934 D NGCMS62 vam 3A, with a cool
doubled forehead, eyelids, nose, lips, and chin and some letters,
of the motto.
Beautiful separation in the last two rays in the tiara.
Enjoy, Bert

Re: My 1878 8TF VAM 23 DMPL

Thank you John. (Longstrider) Thank you JB, DUH!, it is right there on top of the page, in the description. I over looked that and I was looking for the 'rev' description, under the 'obv' description Would it be possible to post my picture above, of the eagle's doubled beak, on the vam 23 page? (Thi...
