Re: 1900 VAM 11 LDS?

The pitting is the thing that makes a piece the unofficial VAM 16A. No pitting at the eagle's neck and you have a VAM 16

Thank you for your persistence and hard work on this date. The next time Roger sends a batch in, he should include the former VAM 64A so I can update the holder. Great work

Love the long gouge. I wonder if it changes the pronunciation of 'one'.

I think what you did with the page looks awesome. Thanks for doing this yet again.

The 'additional photos' that are already on the page are from the discovery piece, so I'd vote to keep them.

Yeah, the chips on the breast were there. The gouge at the S is still visible if you know it's supposed to be there, but it has been polished down

Yeah, I called it 63. We'll see what it gets called in the office

Re: Had an 1878-S VAM 112 on my desk

It's a fairly old Canon Power Shot hand held thru my microscope lens. I've tried to replace it but the newer cameras have too wide a field in the lens to capture images thru the scope eyepiece. Adobe Photo Shop makes me look like I have more skill than I actually do.

Last batch....
The center of the left wing (viewer's right) is overpolished. There's a small patch of parallel lines at the back of the eye and there's a couple of lines in the T of LIBERTY

Re: Had an 1878-S VAM 112 on my desk

More pics....

On this example the gouge at the first S of STATES has been polished down slightly. There are multiple lines along the inner edge of the eagle's leg. The mintmark position is about as normal as it gets.

Had an 1878-S VAM 112 on my desk

I think it's only the second or third time I've seen one of these. I took a few pictures and will likely do it as a column in a few months. In this group we can see the marker lines under the right boll, the doubled edge of the wheat leaf with lines between the leaves and grain, the diagnostic gouge...

That's awesome. I see you've made a couple more upgrades in your 78-CC set. I might have to edit my set just to keep up.

Re: Clashed 1895-O

Yeah, the one that comes to mind is a stage of what is pictured as VAM 1 on the VAMworld pages. It comes single and double clashed. Here's an example of the single clash stage https://coins.ha.com/itm/morgan-dollars/silver-and-related-dollars/1895-o-1-ms63-pcgs-cac-pcgs-7236-/a/1299-3846.s?ic4=Galle...

Re: Vams for Ikes...

ANACS won't attribute DIVA numbers for the exact reason messydesk stated. There are a few interesting Ike varieties, but the series is plagued by doubled master dies and working hubs. It's a series where the listings need contraction rather than expansion if it is to have any hope of attracting a wi...

Re: 1882 cc

VAM 3D is a good place to start. If the clash marks in front of the neck are polished down a little you don't have to look any further

And welcome to VAMworld
