Skip the details coins when you can. There are times when you can't, but this is not one of them.

PCGS was surprisingly fast!

I was surprised – and very happy – with how quickly my first order went with PCGS after it reopened from its Covid-19 shutdown. I was expecting a monumentally slow backlog, but what I got was much nicer: – 3 PCGS coins needing attributions mailed via Registered on April 24. – Coins arrived April 30....

Re: 1921-P Morgan VAM-1BJ

Very, very few 1921-Ps bring a premium and even fewer deserve to, despite what numerous eBay sellers think and continually try. (I am an avid 1921-P collector and I constantly laugh at their listings and then move on.) Demand for 1921-Ps in general is terrible (there are just too many of them around...

Another 1921-P D2 toner... sigh

This one is driving me even more nuts than usual. (Your fault again Chris.) Underneath all that color and crust (sorry J.B., but that technical Photoshop tutorial you gave me in the last thread was way beyond my skill and understanding) there are actually quite a few scribbles. I'm semi-stunned that...

Re: Morgan 1921-P VAM-101

Ken: I've been messing with one of your latest photos and have 3 reasons why this coin should be easily (sort of) attributable. They are indicated on the photo: Kissov 1-2-3.jpg 1 – Chunks of stuff in the right scribbles opening are pretty common, but are most often tiny. Two or even 3 small chunks ...

Is there anything in the bow?

Not a whole lot Lee.
– There's a line below and left of the M.
– There are diagonal polish lines inside the bow.
– And there appears to be a horizontal line above the left ribbon.

How about 3BX?
3BX doesn't have horizontal scribbles in the right wing (my coin does) and 3BX has multiple die cracks on each side (my coin has none).

Re: scribbles + toning = headache

I thought I had this figured out as 3EM, but the right wing scribbles don't quite seem to match:

My knee jerk response would be to guess VAM-3EU.
Could that be it :?:
Lee: Thanks for looking, but that's not it. I'm going to keep plugging away at this; there's enough detail that I should be able to figure it out.

scribbles + toning = headache

D2 reverse.
And no, the reverse isn't actually like this. But when I reduced black and shadows to get some scribbles detail, this is what resulted.
