Re: 1921-P with nice N-clash

Confirmation just in from LVA... this coin is the new VAM 3FT2.

Interestingly, it's a mid die state of 3FT, as the clash is not present on the EDS example I sent to LVA, and only a trace of clashing (no letter transfer whatsoever) is on the later die state example I also sent.

Is the 3HP a match for one of the D2 VNAs you already documented?

I'm pretty sure it's not, but I need to take a careful close look to make sure.

I wonder if I will ever attend or set up at another coin show. Maybe FUN 2022 or 2023.

I expect a lot of us are wondering about the same thing.

I wonder if COVID is giving a lot of people home time to catch up on things and flooding them with individual backlogs?

I think that is an extremely good possibility.

Re: PCGS customer service

Just as a matter of perspective: Do any of you also submit to PSA (sports cards, etc.)? Since the Covid-19 situation began, submissions to PSA have -- to put it incredibly mildly -- increased spectacularly . The last time PSA volunteered status information, the backlog of incoming cards was 1.5 mill...

I helped Cascade Chris with these. V35 is eliminated and is now a V37A. These 35 thru 37 are some of the most confusing I know of. You could ask Chris because he is the discoverer. I am not sure where Nate is the discoverer.

I also have zero sales for VAM 37A in my database.

Re: 1882 VAM35

Neat gouge through the M.

But the combination of zero previous sales in my database and the coin not being in the Top, Hot, Hit or Wow lists leads me to conclude there is minimal or no demand for it as a VAM and minimal or no value premium.

Re: 1921-P with nice N-clash

Nice Is there a acorn on the reverse? That's not a Chris joke is it? No... no acorn. The clashing on this coin is weird. There's a decent clash line up from the right wing to In, but there's nothing next to the left wing or to the right of the left wreath. And there's nothing around Liberty's...

Re: 1921-P with nice N-clash

Pretty! Both of my 3FT must be EDS - no clash, no trace of that neck die break you show. Seems like we might have a VAM 3FT2 in our future... Tom: I also think 3FT2 may happen. Do either of your coins have either/both of these two cracks? They are on both my MDS (n-clash) and LDS examples, but not ...

1921-P with nice N-clash

JB alerted me to this one in my latest PCGS bulk submission (1921-P VAM 3FT)... a coin I broke out and dipped because of ugly toning and a badly chipped holder... and recommended it go to LVA for inspection. One of my other 3FTs has a trace of clash, but it's nothing like this (and the EDS coin has ...
