Re: FINALLY, the elusive 78-P V123

My V123 pick was an extraordinary bit of luck. I was at Mobile, AL for the state USTA tennis tournament, playing at 3.5 level. Visited local shop after matches about 20 min before closure. Went thru their 78-Ps, and it was the second or third coin raw coin I looked at; finished looking at the remain...

Re: My "I just don't care" Top 5

Even though I'm a 78 collector, V33 and V84 are two I don't care about either; got both in PL so holes are filled.

Atlanta ANA Coin Show

Been there, done that; pretty disappointed overall. Show was relatively dead all day Thurs. and Friday AM; a few dealers were no-shows and many set up late. I upgraded 1 78-S (V38 to MS 65) and got a die state of another 78-S I didn't have. The highlight for me was a beautifully toned 90 % silver 20...

Re: 1878 VAM 70A - new stage listing

Assuming the reverse die was only paired with the V70 obverse, that would suggest non cracked examples are possible and exist or existed in the past. Look how rare a true non polished non cracked V80 is. I also own a V1 with no cracking and no die polish line at E-D. I will check mine in the box, bu...
