Re: 1878-P Broken first A in AMERICA?

I'm leaning to post mint damage, metal pushed to the outer side of the A from a hit by something in the middle portion of the A

Possible the coin is "D" mint? If it is, VAM 2N looks like a possible match http://ec2-13-58-222-16.us-east-2.compu ... 2-D_VAM-2N

Re: Group Question. We all have that one...

This thread makes me feel better (???) about my passion for 1891 o Morgans. It took a long time to pass on most E clashes I see, but I still grab an occasional one in higher grade. If I can ever find those last couple of VAMs I need for the complete set, perhaps I'll be able to move on from that lit...

Re: 00-O R6 Tough Find !!

That kind of looked familiar to me, so I checked my master list of VAMs.... Hard to remember what grade it is since it's in the bank box (thinking it is AU), but I do have one in my listings. Nice coin, thanks for posting.

Re: 1878 S VAM 46A

Don't they all feel about the same in that plastic? And I never understood why the stage in the 3rd photo didn't get it's own listing. http://www.vamworld.com/wiki/1878-S_VAM-46A ..... That's a very nice coin you acquired.

Re: What's your favorite acquisition of 2019?

Agree, some great coins finding new homes. Since I didn't find the 1891 o that I continually seek (VAM 9B), I'd have to say mine would be the 1890 o VAM 1B I acquired.

I'm definitely not an expert on this date, possibly VAM 5 w / PMD on the reverse.

Looks like your photos match many of those on the VAM 8 page, so I'd agree.... VAM 8

Well done, mine that look like that usually come back with a "scratched" designation.

1890 o VAM 1B, EDS

It can't really be called a "pick" as the dealer website said it was heavily clashed. But if a person can't find an 1889 VAM 23a, this might be the next best thing? Will add a few close-up photos as I can.
