That is VAM 15.
If there was also pitting under the arrowheads it would be 15A.
Pitting or gouge under the arrowheads makes it a 15A?

Re: I finally found one!

Dennis,
When you emailed me the photos last week, it was the first 41A that I have seen.
So I find it hard to disagree with you and JR. You don't see one too often, if at all.

One’s day is always brighter when their Pappy is close by.

Good luck finding a bottle at their suggested list price.

"this coin has turned into frustration and an excuse to drink"

Dennis, it may help if you keep one of these bottles near your camera.
You may even end up wanting to find more coins like this one.

Re: 1886-p Vam1C variety?

I'll check those out. How about all the die breaks on the reverse what do you think of that? They are visible without magnification. I would not call what you have shown in your photos as breaks. I would call them cracks. It's easy to match your cracks with those on the VAM-19 LFCP (Large Full Coin...

Re: 1886-p Vam1C variety?

It is not a VAM-1C variety. The date location is not correct for VAM-1C.
I believe that you have a VAM-19.

Now I just have to find my ANACS voucher.
I have two coins to send to JR for attribution.
One is a DC.

Re: Morgan 1921-P VAM-93 = EDS of VAM-57

Hi Ken,
I think that you are correct. I have the VAM-93 DC. I also have in my notes to submit these coins for a Kill. I don't remember when or how I came up with 93 = 57/57A. But I do see it in my notes for a kill.
Keep up the good work. Let me know if you want to submit these for a kill.

Re: OT; Counterfeit American Eagles

The stars are totally different, aren't they! Dennis, Yes, the stars are very different. As I started looking closely, just about everything was off. Looking with magnification, I think how could this ever pass. But the color, size, weight, and look is pretty good when you are looking at these with...

Re: OT; Counterfeit American Eagles

Lee, What did the counterfeits weigh? Brady, I don't have a scale, but the weight felt good. Thank JB for letting us know why. Just quickly seeing a few on a counter in flips, one can get fooled. But it didn't take any time with a glass to see it was off. I could post lots of photos, but I wont mak...

OT; Counterfeit American Eagles

I purchased a few American Eagles yesterday from someone I know, trust, and do regular business with. When I got home, I looked at them closely. I called him up and informed him that two were Fake. It's not a problem when you do business with a reputable person, and the person I work with is happy t...

Re: Todays fun find "My Attribution Project" - '80/'79 cc REV '78

Very Nice :D

"Is this a MIS-MARK for NGC" Not really, it is a 1880-CC Rev of 78.

"Dont they attribute for a large error like this ??" Yes and no. I think that they do attribute that VAM, but not until they are asked and paid to make the attribution on the label.

Re: 1900-O Morgan with THIS crack ... O/CC?

This probably is a 1900-O VAM-33. The 33 has the obverse of the VAM-11 O/CC. I do not believe the 33 and the 11 are the same obverse. First, the crack out of the hair is in a different location. But more importantly, the date locations are different. The date on the 11 is located a little bit left ...
