Re: FUN ZOOM Call
The list has been ready to present for a couple of months now. Just waiting for a virtual version of VAM Thing to present it publicly. I have had the SSDC Registry awards ready to go too.

The obverse marker on the chin leaves you with a VAM 10 or 10A. If there's not dash left under the 2nd 8, it's 10A - that's the only difference. An 'empty nest' is typically what's left when additional characteristics are described in other listings and nothing fits into the more generic older listi...

This isn't even a 'you suck', I'd say this might be a 'wow I do suck' moment.

yup, what John said. I think your example might have been the one that made me put it on the JR list in the first place.

It's a shame that medal wasn't on the cup. Still pretty sure I want one

Re: 1882-CC VAM-3x... Why Unlisted?... And Out of Sequence?...
If you want a revision of the VAM 3A listing, you're going to have to come up with a different example. Van Allen won't touch something with toning like that. I know you think this is significant, but I'd view this as minor at best.

Out of focus, but that sure looks like a wreath clash
It is entirely possible that there was a minor polish job prior to the one with ultra deep mirrors that makes the 3 come back.

Fine, if you actually have the fuggly (IMO) toner in hand, shoot the back of the cap at a different angle. I predict magic.

Or you're just wrong There's nothing special about your 3A. I'm out. Someone else can play

Sorry, I ain't buying it. Looks like a typical 3A with some bagmarks and toning. Unremarkable in my opinion.

Re: 1882-CC VAM-3x... Why Unlisted?... And Out of Sequence?...
BTW, look at the VAM 7 listing. The earliest stage of VAM 3 has no wing spikes, but has reverse only single clash marks from its use in the VAM 7 marriage.
