How rare is the vam 74-A in ms 65. My old vam book is 2013 and ms64 is the best in that book.

picked up a nice vam 2 1887/6

I don't have a tone coin to play with but I have thought about it. You need to soak coin in something to loosen the toning up before dip. I bet koil oil over night would remove a lot of toning with out doing any damage to coin. If you are a machinist you know what koil oil is. I will try it on next ...

Spent over 200 on that coin hoping to make it look better. But might be one of those 200 dollar lessons.

I was hoping to get obv to match rev, a second quick dip might do it, I got to think about it, reverse still has full luster cartwheel. The tone on obv just didn't look right to me.

bought this nice coin today, from pictures I think its a vam 19.

got this nice 1878 vam 186 B its graded by ICG MS65 but I don't like the tone on obv, think it would be worth sending it to NCS to clean the obv up then put it in a NGC holder. I see on the vam page that a ms63 is rare for vam 186-B

the obv does has the tripled and doubled stars, pictures of the cracks on rev match except crack don't make it to the F in of so think its a EDS of 1AC. nice ms65

My coin matches the die crack guide for rev for a 1AC. wonder if someone has one and does there obv have poished lines like this picture, thanks.

It looked cool bid 100.00 on it but sence it's machine doubling I'm out, sometime I get excited and start bidding with out research.
