Re: Prayers for Mr. Goldsmith
I’ve tried to call, but service is down. Even I hope he and the Mrs. scurried down the hole in time. This is twice in a few years for those folks!

Re: Stupid Questions from the new guy!
Welcome to your next step down the path to being self-committed! New to VAMs, you say? Wanna learn what to look for, you say? Welp, there is a set out there that I believe was created for just such an occasion, but I just can’t recall what it was called. I think there was a guide published for it an...

Re: Covid Shots
If you have a chance to get the others I would take it and not wait. One unintended benefit that my wife and I didn't realize was anxiety. There was a big feeling of relief once we got the shot. Except the British Astra Zeneca one. That one has only a 65% effective rate. Chris, believe it or not 65...

Bunny: long eared rat that steals candy from innocent children each Spring and replaces it with rotten eggs and “homemade chocolate covered raisins”.

Re: My Lucky 13!
Flat-chested, I’m willing to bet you got some bad info. Who told you these things? Honestly, to me it seems that most of the folks that I’ve seen complain about the “elite” are actually the ones that see themselves as above the group and they get pissed because they post incorrect photos or photos t...

Re: Onliest I found so far
Without divulging which Clashed E it is, I memorized the clash mark location at eagle's right wing and the scratch thru the D of UNITED. I searched Ebay for a few weeks, and bought 5 coins trying to find one. The fifth coin was a winner. Paid common money and had 4 other coins that I released back ...

Re: 1879-S Rev of 1878
I wonder if the stop/start between Jan.-Feb. was someone, on one end or the other, saying don't make any more dollars until the new dies arrive? I think it's interesting that, as far as I know, none of the rev. 78 VAMs have die breaks... does that mean they were all still "viable" dies when they wer...

Wow, all the references to WOW! VAM values!
3f4 sure is a busy VAM and I'd say you got a good deal Mike, but you'll prolly crap when I tell you I found TWO NGC MS64 3f4's at the second ever Baltimore show I attended for... $30 ea.

Re: 1897-O $1 PCGS AU-53 VAM-6A
Dennis, that is a legit 6a, but it still has some life to reach 6b. If memory serves, I think the one in the book is just slightly more advanced than this, but still pre-6b. Your stage is where I'd call them desirable, at least to me. The OP coin looks earlier from what I can see, but will wait for ...

Re: ANACS Getting tough
Yeah, ANACS has been tough since they went to the yellow labels. My rule is if you’re looking to market a coin send it to the other guys for a “commercial grade”, but if it’s for your own collection and you wanna KNOW the coin earned the grade ANACS is the only choice. BTW, I’ll try to get you some ...

Re: Best Place to Keep My Little Treasures
I wouldn't worry as much about the coins melting as I would the plastic around them melting and wrecking them. You could do what the Rabbit does and just carry them all around in your pocket. Also, note to self, JK lives in Oregon and has a yard and in that yard is buried treasure... let the games b...
