Re: Best Place to Keep My Little Treasures
Thanks everyone for the helpful replies! I moved everything to safe deposit yesterday. Took a little shoehorning, but everything fit into my 10 x 20 box. Marriage license might have gotten a little wrinkled in the process.

Best Place to Keep My Little Treasures
All the fires we had recently has me questioning whether my little treasures (Silver $) are safer at home in my home safe, or tucked away in the bank safe deposit box. In the (hopefully unlikely) event our house burns down, I don't think our home safe is rated to keep silver from melting - advantage...

It would also save if they were to skip Saturday delivery, or even go to alternate day delivery MWF or TThS by route. Is there anyone out there who would be seriously hurt by this?

Yup. And right now government is sending a message "don't worry about saving, we've got your back."Longstrider wrote: ↑Tue Apr 21, 2020 4:32 pmKnow this is only my opinion and I may be wrong, But it seems to me that most people don't have any savings at all. "None of the coins was examined for variety as attributed in Comprehensive Catalogue And Encyclopedia of U.S. Morgan and Peace Silver Dollars by Leroy Van Allen and A. George Mallis." 13,000 is a lot of coins to review for varieties, but how hard would it have been for them to take a wee peek to see...

Attributed by VSS as a VAM 8. It's die 1 as is also has the forehead scratch.

Interesting that the legislation is sponsored by congresspeople from Kentucky and Missouri. Each coin will be priced at cost + $10.00. " 40 percent of all surcharges shall be paid to the National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City, Missouri, for the purposes of education and commemoratio...

Re: delete please
I have always thought the Comps were a weird and distracting way to help collectors attribute VAMs, especially when they are presented with no caption and no arrows highlighting the reason for each individual photo. Never said anything out of respect for those who have spent so much time putting VW1...

So, Original, with Eagle flying upward (alignment I) or restrike, level eagle (alignment III). I'm guessing Original as the restrikes usually have broken reverse die.

She looks a lot like Miss August - from messydesk’s 2019 calendar. But Miss August is a 1908, and, imho, much prettier.

True. But eBay policy says that any coin NOT of U.S. Mint origin be stamped 'COPY'. Auction is in violation. And a violation of the Hobby Protection Act of 1973. “An imitation numismatic item which is manufactured in the United States, or imported into the United States for introduction into or dis...

When my calendar arrived, Mrs. Neals whisked it away to wrap for Christmas. The photos are as spectacular as ever! And, to my surprise, there’s a photo of a coin that I have - the 26-S Oregon Trail. Of course mine isn’t anywhere near as spectacular as the beauty in the calendar!

Just curious - what is the silver object at lower right of the picture? Call me crazy, but it looks like a depiction of Rosie from The Jetsons.

Well, this is just not correct. Coins are subject to capital gains tax...but most coin sales do not require reporting to the IRS, therefore you can simply not report your gains on you tax return. That doesn't mean the gains weren't taxable.

Hi, ORG! This is a running thread where our experts post links to suspicious eBay listings. Each entry will have a link to a coin for sale that is either mis-described, or, in many cases, a copy. These listings are also reported to eBay, hopefully resulting in the listing being canceled before someo...
