Siiver Dollar 1926 S, doubled mintmark

This 1926 S dollar seems difficult for me to attribute. Obv: It has: Beveled hair below the R of Liberty. A die crack spans the lower bust. A Doubled designer monogram. Die gouges are below the last T in trust and below and to the right of the 1. Rev: It has: A doubled mintmark. Shortened sunrays at...

1901 Silver Dollar V19, 'e' filled

The V19 in my collection has a filled ‘e’ in ‘We’. Is mine an example of the rare type as illustrated and described on the V19 webpage? The one illustrated on the webpage appears to exhibit doubling but my example does not. The first image is my coin...the 'e' does not appear doubled. The second ima...

Re: 1902 O Silver Dollar

Thanks LDMG. I see that you like the VAM44. It seems the lack of a more complete description and small number of images on the VAM44 webpage is making it difficult for me to accept it as a match. Does it have the die gouge above the 'T' in 'Liberty' and the doubled IGWT with filled G and E'? If so, ...

Re: 1902 O Silver Dollar

Thank you LDMG for pointing to the crack finder links, they were quite helpful. I examined the links for the near date obverses and C4 reverses. VAM44 seems to come closest, but, in my opinion is not a match. I am submitting five more images in the hope that something positive will turn up. I will a...

1902 O Silver Dollar

This coin resists my attributing it. The description below is from my comment in an Excel file-all capital letters. Apologies in advance for the capital letters and if the description proves to be long winded. In addition, please find several digital images. If more are necessary, please request tho...

Re: 1904 O Silver Dollar

Many thanks LateDateMorganGuy…I appreciate your help in nailing this one. Find some additional images that I took after the fact. In the first image, the first arrow shows a tiny remnant of the doubling at the junction of the upper crossbar and the left side of the upright. The second arrow shows a ...

Re: 1904 O Silver Dollar

Please find the images below. It seems that the denticles have two side by side die gouges. The ear may have evidence of doubling at the right. Trust this is what you may be looking for to attribute the coin.

Re: 1904 O Silver Dollar

The 1904 O Silver Dollar illustrated below appears to be a C4a reverse. It exhibits the following characteristics: The date appears slanted (4 above 1) and set at a normal 2.5. The profile is doubled from the tiara to the neck-jaw junction. The lower hair appears surface doubled from the designer’s ...

Re: 1901 Silver Dollar

Thanks LateDateMorganGuy for taking the time for such a thorough analysis…it is much appreciated. In my Excel spreadsheet comment, I described the date as follows: ‘DATE SET IN NORMAL POSITION, 2.50. The smaller image appears to be set closer to a near date (2.2 or so). In addition, the smaller imag...

Thanks for the follow-up LateDateMorganGuy...and for your creation of the VAM19 listing. Re: 1901 Silver Dollar

Thank you LateDateMorganGuy for supplying the key features that confirm a VAM19, I am new to VAM and could not find info about the VAM19 on the VAM19 webpage, that you were able to supply. Incidentally, Is additional info on individual VAM webpages available elsewhere on the VAM site? See the images...

1901 O Silver Dollar

This 1901 O Silver dollar is contained in an old NGC 64 holder. It has eluded me for many years. The date appears a bit low but in the normal 2.5 range. It also appears slightly slanted, and with a C4/C3 2 Olive, clashed reverse. The mint mark is set a bit high and to the right. The profile is doubl...

Re: 1900 S Silver Dollar

Thank you messydesk for your quick response to my post. It appears you are correct. The obverse image on the VAM Web-page of VAM17 is slightly out of focus and when magnified does not give the proper resolution to see the doubling (tripling?) of the ‘1’ under the upper crossbar or the surface doubli...
