Re: Can't match this 1883-O

Awesome! This is my first HOT 50 VAM! I do have an 1883 O/O VAM 4 TOP 100, but I'm excited that I found this in MS 64+.

This should be VAM-36A. The clashed "E" is still visible.
It is visible, faint, but it's there. But there is also the beveling on the obverse cap. Would that mean this is a late die stage VAM 36A or a sort of progression coin of A to B?

So pullback is the term for the streaks that make it look like it moved or slid across the coin? The doubling I mentioned can be seen clearer in the closeups of the stars, there is 2 distinct edges on some of the stars.

I hope it is ok to link to an imgur album. There is just so many things that stood out on this beautiful coin and the post limits 5 pictures. Coin is very PL in hand, did my best with my phone camera. Thanks everyone and I hope this coin didn't get the better of you. Imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/...

Some other markers I just found (after rechecking the VAM 3 page).

Lines by the eagle's leg, Die Scratches in the T of Liberty, and a better picture of the scratches in the eye.

Re: 1882-S, I think it is a VAM 3 but am having a hard time matching.

Your coin appears to be EDS of VAM-3, or in other word, pre polished and pre acid treatment. It's an important coin. You need to send this coin along with the acid treated vam3 to Leroy when he is not busy anymore. I have vam3 that I can send at the same time you are sending yours for Leroy referen...

1882-S, I think it is a VAM 3 but am having a hard time matching.

So I have this 1882-S and I think it is a VAM 3, doubling on the date and cap, what looks like acid treatment on the wreath, tried to capture the lines I see in the eye and the S is tilted left but it also looks like it could be a different tilted S VAM so I am having trouble pinning it down. 200321...

Re: Mail just came in, 1895 O XF45, think I found a VAM 3!

Go into edit on your pics (usually the small pencil icon) and you can crop them and spin them before you upload to a photo sharing site. I think it was because I was just dragging the pictures from the folder on my PC into the reply box and it was uploading them into the best size. I cropped them j...
