Re: "Buy the coin not the holder"

Hope you acquired that coin Lee for 1881 S money. That 1885 S checks in at $1850 versus 1881 S at $150.

Re: 1934-P VAM 1F

Are they die cracks? YES- However,LDS die crack thru N (IN) shows die break at rim and EDS rim to rim die crack at Y (LIBERTY) shows displaced field break. Understand, the die crack itself becomes a die break if and when a progression occurs that widens and deepens in the die itself. Rim to rim die...

Re: 1934-P VAM 1F

WOW!!! Those squiggles are killer. Not to piss anyone off but that should be an Elite 30 or Top 50, in my opinion. Say, does the top 50 and elite 30 ever change? I know the John Roberts does. Thanks.🐍 Your reference to "squiggles" is reminiscent of my recent 1923 D VAM 1BF Revision 7-13-20. Die cra...

Re: 1921-d ms 65 pcgs unattributed vam 3Awing dot

The 1921 D VAM 3A Streamer Wing die break is one of my favorites for eye appeal. That folded look reminds me of a dog-eared note every time I see it. Two VAM 3B LDS specimen in AU 55 and AU 58 have been my picks so far.

Your PCGS MS 65 is a very nice upgrade indeed. :)

Very nice 1921 D VAM 1i3 with die gouges and 5 displaced field breaks. Looks like a candidate for "Crack City". :) ;) 8-)

Is it that common for the denticles too?
Strike doubling is especially common on peripheral devices.

Great work David !! Duplicate VAM listings need to be eliminated. Revisions add important die markers for improved die stage identification.

Nice EDS VAM 1J Tom. Very tough to find in LDS with retained cud above ED. I have found only one LDS VAM 1J with both die break A and retained cud above ED - ANACS 1921 D VAM 1J AU 55 Polished.

Re: Saw this in the box yesterday; shareworthy

Very tough planchet error type in silver dollars !! Thanks for sharing.. I have never seen a tapered planchet Morgan dollar. ANACS graded a 1922 Peace dollar with a tapered planchet error (noted on slab) AU 58 for me about ten years ago. My specimen exhibits missing metal divot on reverse at 8:00 - ...

Re: 1896p morgan struck thur string

A strike-thru error is caused by foreign material (sometimes string) between the die face and planchet when the coin is struck. This debris (string) will always leave a depressed area on the coin. The ends of the string depression often display frayed, spread out fiber impressions. Striking errors a...

Re: New Grading Contest – Win a 1878 SFLN

Your previous contest was completely dishonest when you changed your grading "rule" after the coin was returned from TPG !! How many times are you gonna try to pull a similar ruse of bait and switch?
Reputation is everything in the coin business, numismatics, and VAMWorld.
