Re: 1878s VAM-62

I think that PCGS G4 sold this year for $285 is likely mine, blush, that is a record amount for a 1878s VAM-62 in G4 (a little over $400 Canadian delivered with exchange, shipping and taxes). This one makes five VAM-62's in my collection, it is a difficult coin to collect as it took several years to...

Re: 1878s VAM-62

Wow!!! So VAM-62's come up every 250 days or so, I think they are coming up more often then the 59's. perhaps. I've got trade items (details San Francisco Long Nocks), or cash, if anybody out there wants to rid him or her self of their 1878s VAM-62's, there are dozens out there that are not locked u...

1878s VAM-62

PCGS certified dozens of these VAM-62's and only 13 are locked up in sets. ANACS and PCGS also no doubt certified many more. These coins do not come up for auction too frequently, seems like fewer than one per year. Feel free to send me a personal message telling me about your 1878s VAM-62.

I thank the members of VAMWorld for helping me acquire the collection of San Francisco Long Nocks, I would not have been able to amass such a collection of coins without your help.

Yes indeed, Americans would rather invest in China and make computers and computer chips there, then refuse to sell used computers or even silver coins to Canadian buyers on eBay.

Re: Western Canadian Archives SFLN Collection

Well my birthday is coming up again, in just a little over six months from now. I hope that you folks would be so kind and find your unwanted duplicate coins and get them up for sale, I am hoping for three more VAM-58's, three more VAM-59's, a single VAM-60, two more VAM-62's and a single VAM-72, pl...

Re: Zero Inventory

Hard to talk of economics without also talking about politics and religion, consider banning the discussion of all three and return to PAFs and VAMs. Both Carson City and San Francisco minted PAFs after 1878.

Re: Western Canadian Archives SFLN Collection

Likely the coins will stay as part of the permanent collection of the museum, so 10% of the San Francisco Long Nocks are now lost to other collectors. Sorry.

Re: 1879S VAM-56

All the money made on that and other coins I sold got shipped back to the USA, for the purchase of 1878-S Morgans. I liquidated many Canadian silver dollars in order to obtain more Morgans, as the Morgans are so much nicer coins. I've pretty much given up on trying to get a 1878-S VAM-60, never ever...

My 1879-S VAM-56 in F-12 only sold for $1500 US last year, thought it sold so very cheap because the bonnet was cracked.

Re: An often overlooked 1878 CC R-7 vam

Over the years many have been mislead by the information that is not up to date (and lost money by chasing common coins), if it is not possible to update the pages, then more should be done to warn the newbies of the pitfalls. I understand more accurate counts can be found at the Society of Silver D...

Re: OT: Of Metals, Markets and Pandemics

You forgot the part where people adopt Catholic fertility rites and turn trees into decorated idols, have people tortured in psychiatric facilities for daring to say so, then think themselves holy for importing members of alternative fertility cults.

Re: OT... How are you gonna handle the next 2 weeks?

I guess copper is just a suspected carcinogen and has some anti-microbial properties. Still, many people find copper to be toxic to them - many people are unable to wear silver earrings due to the silver being alloyed with copper and they end up with infected ears. Still, I most people would prefer ...
