7 III2 6 - C3f (Doubled 882, Open 2, O/O Low) (176) I-4 R-4 Obverse III2 6- First 8 doubled at right inside and outside of upper loop. Loops of second 8 doubled on left outside. 2 doubled at top outside. Open 2. Reverse C3f- Mint mark repunched with the original showing below and inside.
Comments: 1882-O VAM-7 O over O. The VAM-7 is a tremendous repunched mintmark with the remnants of a second O strongly visible below the true mint mark. There is also evidence of the underlying mint mark inside the top of the O as well. This coin can be found in nice mint-state examples. High grades are tougher and hard to find in 64 and above. Prooflike specimens are highly prized.
