1879-O VAM-26 Doubled 9, Die Chips in Date

Discovered by Martin Field, April 1984. Revised 2013 Vamhusker

26 (revised) III2 3 ∙ C3u (Doubled 9, Die Chips in Date O Set Left) (176) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 3 Both 9 loops doubled on left outside. Die chips with polishing lines at top of 8 and 9 lower loops.
Die marker - Threadlike Impression on lower cotton leaves
Reverse C3u II O mint mark set slightly left with slight tilt to right.
Die marker - Vertical polishing line thru left S in STATS. Some lite die rust pitting on some specimens at ITED.

1- This obverse shared with VAM-3, VAM-16, and VAM-26.
