1878-S VAM-55 Sextupled Left Stars, Doubled Profile, Acid Treated Wings

Reverse B2al– Shallow feather engraved between eagle’s right wing and leg. Slightly doubled UNITED STAT and top leaf cluster of left wreath towards rim. R in Trust not broken. Raised dots and splotches in center of both wings from acid treated die, but later die state than VAM 75A and die polished again. Die markers: Tiny raised dot on right side of upper tail feathers between eagle’s legs and curved depressed area on lowermost outside feather of eagle’s right wing.

Comments:
1- Note: vam 55 and 35 share the same obverse die
2- Fine vertical lines engraved in middle of eagle's left wing (Not on 1878-S VAM-75)
