1878 B1 Reverse Attribution Guide

B1 Quick Reference Guide

The first thing one should do is make certain that the coin is a B1 reverse. It should have a long nock. However, the B/A Reverses also have this feature. To eliminate them as possibilities, check to see if there is any A reverse remnants beneathe the olive branch below the olive and be sure there is no lateral doubling on either leg, The B/A Reverses all have Die markers in that area
