1878 VAM-100 Type 1 Obverse. This variety has the parallel arrow feather, short nock B2 reverse combined with the type 1 obverse which has an incuse M. Incuse M means the designer, George T. Morgan, placed his initial M on the obverse neck of Liberty and for type 1, it is etched down into the design. For type 2 coins, the M raises up out of the neck. It is subtle and hard to see. Additional pick-up points for this coin include obverse doubling, pictured here on the R and I of PLURIBUS and small die chips around US of TRUST.
