1904-O VAM-18 Doubled Profile, High O, Die 1

Discovered by Martin Field, August 1979. Revised 2009.Revised 2014

18 (revised) III2 7 - C4f (Doubled Profile, High O) (181) I-2 R-5
Obverse III2 7 - For both obverse dies, profile of Liberty head is doubled in forward hairline, forehead, nose, lips and chin. Also has slightly doubled top of Phrygian cap.
Obv Die #1 Marker - Vertical die scratch at jaw-neck junction.

Rev Die #1 Marker- Fine long slightly curved vertical die scratch in middle of eagle’s left wing with some portions showing double lines. Three diagonal long die scratches in middle of eagle’s right wing. No rotated die reverse.
